Sending books to Kindle HD
I am unable to send books to my Kindle Fire
I get the following message
"Starting job: Email Unknown to jwelkXXXX.kindle.com
Waiting 1 seconds before sending, to avoid being marked as spam.
You can control this delay via Preferences->Tweaks
I can send them using my email account. This seems to be a new "feature" I was able to do it with my "paper white" version

Korean>Japanese dictionary formatting, not working on kindle
Hello everyone.
I was trying to convert a stardict kr>jp dictionary to mobi to use it on my kindle oasis.
I used pyglossary to convert it and I loaded it unto my kindle. But when I use it, no matter the word, the dictionary pop-up always gives me the same 39 words.
I tried messing with the idx orth tags and so but to no avail.
I attached the original dictionary, the outputs pyglossary gave me, and two pictures to show the inoperacity of the dictionary.

PW5 Is jailbreak pointless this days? Librariansync not working
Hey,
I jailbroken my PW5 as soon as jailbreak dropped (around 2 years ago) to use tweaks like librariansync or screensaverhack as these two were my biggest pain in the ass. I was really disappointed to see that none of them works and 99% of tweaks are not updated for PW5...
Whats the point of the jailbreak then? What I can do with my jailbroken PW5? Starting to think about getting back to OEM soft...

Firmware Update I think an OTA update bricked my PW4
I hadn't used my PW4 in a while - it was just running stock firmware in the end (but I had previously tinkered a bit).
Now it won't boot past the 'boy under a tree' splash screen, and it doesn't go in to USB mode.
Closest I've seen is when it's dead flat I can see a 'drive' but nothing mounted in it.
Looks like I'm on one of the firmware versions that doesn't allow entering recovery mode from a serial connection anymore(!).
Is there any way to force it to mount the storage so I can manually apply an update?

Auto launch KUAL extensions on wake up?
Hey,
im on PW4 with languagebreak with KUAL+ and Helper+
Ive disabled the Screensaver and Im using SkipStone to display data from a website.
SkipStone is running from 1-12h then I put the Kindle to Sleep by holding the power btn for a couple of seconds then I press SCREEN OFF
If I turn the screen on (wake the kindle up) 1h later it starts direct in Skipstone, but if I wait for 10h then it wake it up im at the home screen.
Ïs it possible to boot SkipStone directly on wake up?

New Win11 laptop can't see my Kindle
Just bought a new Acer laptop with win 11 & it can't see my kindle.
I've had Kindles for years & have never had a problem with any PC being able to see them by just plugging a USB cable into them. Not now however & some of the suggestions on Google are just ridiculous.
Any ideas?

Convert books already in kindle
Hi giys. I have books already in my kindle. Is there a way to convert them so i don't have to remove all of them and put the new format in. I have a lot of books already in my kindle and it's in collections. (1 folder per series) it would be tedious to start from scratch.

PW Top row of PW1 not readable, would like to add a row worth of margin to the top.
My top row is messed up (I inherited this kindle PW1 not sure how it got damaged). This is what it looks like. Id like to move down the top row so that I can read on it, bonus points if I can move the top bar/menus down too so that I can actually see the battery state/clock etc...

Kindle Voyage jailbreak
Until recently I used the Kindle 3 that was given to me in 2011. It had jailbreak installed from day one. Today I bought a used Voyage Wifi and would also like to have jailbreak on it. Please tell me the steps to get it, if they are possible :)

FW 5.16.21 creates crash logs every now and then
I recently got my JB'ed Kindle Scrive updated to 5.16.21 (because I just forgot to block OTA).
During usage, it creates crash logs files in documents folder and well as /mnt/us/ ("root" when connected via USB).
In documents they are like:

Maybe Kindle is complaining because I have logging, OTA, and minerva blocked :D
But this wasn't the case on 5.16.9 or 5.16.3.

Send to Kindle for PC 1.1.1.256 new update
Just went to send an ebook to my Kindle using Send to Kindle for PC and a notification for a new version update popped up. Has anyone installed it yet and used it? Wondering if it's safe to install since the last time I tried an update the thing glitched and I had to uninstall and install an older version because the new version at the time was farked and I haven't updated mine since then. I'm a little terrified of updating the software and having it not work.

Content Canada vs US (amazon.ca vs .com) ebooks
I live in Canada, but when I bought my first Kindle over a decade ago I linked my device to an American Amazon.com account. I don't recall the exact reason, but that's what was recommended at the time. There was perhaps better selection or prices on .com at that time.
These days I find that the selection on Amazon.ca is just as good as .com and the prices are usually actually lower (when adjusted for exchange rate).
Should I be switching to Amazon.ca, and if I do so will I still be able to read my previously-purchased books on my Kindle?

PW5 Lost the installed koreader on pw5
i installed koreader some months back when i on pw5 but yesterday when i exited the koreader and came back to see the kual entry missing from the library section.
Have i lost the koreader installation. Do i need to follow the installation process from start to get it back. Please help. Thanks

5.16.21 KPW Signature (JB+Hotfix) - KOReader + KUAL auto-removed from /documents
Just a warning:
I have a jailbroken Kindle Paperwhite Signature (11th gen) 32GB that I updated to 5.16.21. Following directions here (https://fw.notmarek.com/khf/ - at my own risk, I know!) to update to 5.16.21, and then installing HF hotfix, HF MRPI, KUAL, KOReader, and KOL asap booklet, and installing/applying coversetter and BinaryRenamer, I decided to connect to WiFi and register with Amazon. Discovered that Amazon has ability (whether through registration, or through latest firmware) to go into my /documents folder, and remove the KUAL.kual and KOReader.kol files (making KUAL and KOReader inaccessible from my Kindle PW's GUI). My fix was to reinstall everything (starting with hotfix).
I was able to replicate this issue (and fix) with my Kindle Oasis 3 (10th).
I tried downgrading to do a clean install of 5.16.2 using instructions on this site and the RUNME.sh script, and got an error during the update process (UPDATE ERROR: 11).
Not cool, Amazon (who owns this device, and the documents in the /documents folder, btw?)!
Questions to the communithy:
1. Is there some additional binary in the .21 FW version that can go into the /documents directory and remove specific files? Or, some other mechanism for Amazon to remove my files in /documents directory?
2. Any thoughts as to workaround to make downgrade possible?
